Eligibility/Qualification

  • Educational Background: Degree allowing enrolment in a PhD (MSc, Master 2 de Recherche) in chemistry, physics, materials sciences, nanotechnology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Knowledge of soft matter, lipids, protein interactions, or surface science is highly desirable. Familiarity with scattering techniques (neutron or X-ray), Langmuir monolayer methods, or structural biology is advantageous.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English (B2 level proof required).
  • Mobility Rule: Must have not resided or worked in the host institute’s country for more than twelve months in the three years preceding the application deadline.
  • Doctoral Degree Status: Must not be currently working towards or possess a doctoral degree at the recruitment date.

Description

This PhD project aims to elucidate the molecular interactions involved in the dengue virus capsid protein (DENV-C) binding to lipid droplet (LD) surfaces. The research will utilize state-of-the-art neutron scattering techniques, focusing on specific protein-Plin3 interactions to yield insights that may help develop future anti-dengue strategies. The candidate will be part of a collaborative network involving prestigious institutions, enhancing their interdisciplinary research experience.
