Eligibility & Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated to work at the interface of engineering, chemistry, and data science, possessing:

  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related field.
  • A solid understanding of spectroscopy, chemometrics, statistics, or machine learning.
  • Laboratory experience alongside a keen interest in pharmaceutical manufacturing and process analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills and the motivation to collaborate across a cross-disciplinary, industry-academia setting.
  • High proficiency in both written and spoken English.

Job Description

As a PhD student within this framework, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting applied research focusing on Raman spectroscopy, chemometrics, and data-driven modelling.
  • Developing and validating next-generation methodologies to create augmented process data via simulations.
  • Working directly with experimental and simulated data from realโ€‘world pharmaceutical production environments.
  • Accelerating the industrial adoption of PAT at Novo Nordisk by creating generalisable chemometric workflows.
  • Publishing scientific results and contributing to internal knowledge sharing across Novo Nordisk and DTU.
