Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed Master’s or equivalent degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Theoretical foundations in (visual) cognitive neuroscience.
  • Experience in behavioral data collection, preferably in vision science.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing EEG and/or fMRI data.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab and/or Python.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Description

The PhD candidate will work on a pioneering project aimed at uncovering how the brain perceives and encodes visual relations between people (social) and objects (non-social). This will involve conducting behavioral experiments, collecting EEG and fMRI data, analyzing results using multivariate analyses of neural data, and computational modeling through artificial neural networks. The role includes presenting research findings at conferences and publishing in scientific journals. The candidate’s work will contribute toward obtaining a PhD degree.
