Eligibility / Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Plant Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, or a closely related discipline
  • Strong interest in plant omics, cell biology, fruit development, and crop innovation
  • Motivation to work in an international and interdisciplinary research environment
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Prior experience in molecular, cellular, or omics-based techniques will be an advantage

Job Description

  • Conduct PhD research on the fruit–pedicel abscission zone in sweet cherry
  • Apply multi-omics (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) and cell-based methodologies
  • Analyze molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating fruit abscission
  • Collaborate with partner institutions in Germany, Spain, Italy, and the UK
  • Present research findings at scientific meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Contribute to the overall objectives of the CherrySCOPE project
