Eligibility / Qualification
- Master’s degree in Plant Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, or a closely related discipline
- Strong interest in plant omics, cell biology, fruit development, and crop innovation
- Motivation to work in an international and interdisciplinary research environment
- Good written and spoken English
- Prior experience in molecular, cellular, or omics-based techniques will be an advantage
Job Description
- Conduct PhD research on the fruit–pedicel abscission zone in sweet cherry
- Apply multi-omics (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) and cell-based methodologies
- Analyze molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating fruit abscission
- Collaborate with partner institutions in Germany, Spain, Italy, and the UK
- Present research findings at scientific meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Contribute to the overall objectives of the CherrySCOPE project
