Location: Wageningen University, Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MSc. degree (or planned defense date) in marketing or related fields (economics, business development, or management studies).
  • Affinity with data and digitalization of value chains.
  • Interest in livestock farming and food systems.
  • Socially relevant science background on topics such as sustainability, animal welfare, food, and agribusiness.
  • Proficient in English (C1 level).

Description: The Digi4Life project aims to amplify the capacity of livestock sector actors to leverage data and digital technologies. As a PhD candidate, you will follow and develop a research agenda aligned with Digi4Life’s objectives. Employing mixed methods, you will explore case studies, analyze data sharing opportunities, and assess the impact of individual consumer choices on the digital and sustainable transition of livestock farming. Stakeholder management, literature reviews, and qualitative/quantitative research projects are integral to this four-year trajectory.
