  • A successfully completed Master’s degree in engineering, natural sciences, or a related course of study
  • Good knowledge of materials science and energy technology
  • Basic programming skills (e.g., Python) and enjoyment of programming
  • High degree of independence and willingness to show great commitment
  • Very reliable and conscientious working style
  • Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage

Job Description:

  • Research publicly available data on current and future materials for energy technologies
  • Implement materials data into the technology database and energy system model ETHOS.FINE
  • Connect material databases like EXIOBASE to account for competing material demands from other economic sectors
  • Analyze and evaluate transformation scenarios to avoid material bottlenecks
  • Contribute creative ideas to the doctoral thesis
  • Participate in and present research at conferences in Germany and abroad
  • Prepare scientific publications and project reports
