PhD Position – ERC CoG Project: The Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) is offering a 4-year PhD position as part of the EU-funded ERC CoG 2023 project, “Thermal Modulators based on novel 2D MXene materials for nearly isothermal battery operation” (THERMO2DEAL). This project focuses on the synthesis of 2D MXenes using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) techniques and the development of electrochemical devices based on them.

Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for synthesizing 2D MXenes using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) techniques, controlling their physico-chemical properties, thickness, and homogeneity. Additionally, they will develop electrochemical devices based on these MXenes. The candidate must possess strong skills in material synthesis, particularly with CVD techniques, and have experience with material characterization techniques such as Raman, XRD, and XPS.
