PhD Position – Genetic Diseases: A full-time PhD position is available for a motivated individual interested in unraveling the molecular aspects of rare genetic kidney diseases and contributing to therapy development for children. This organoid-based research project is financially supported by the Dutch Kidney Foundation. The successful candidate will work on identifying drug targets to address rare pediatric kidney diseases.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
  • Hands-on experimental skills and experience in genetics, cell culture, microscopy, and multi-omics data analysis.
  • Preferably, experience in the field of nephrology.

Job Description: As a PhD student, you will be engaged in a full-time research position, utilizing patient-derived organoids to identify drug targets for rare pediatric kidney diseases. The project, funded by the Dutch Kidney Foundation, spans three years with the opportunity to start between April and June 2024.
