Eligibility/Qualification
- MSc Degree in Mechanical/Material Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong interest in modelling of materials and production processes
- Knowledge in Nonlinear Solid Mechanics, computational methods, material science, and experimental methods
- Background in finite element method, crystal plasticity, and sheet metal forming is preferable
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present research at conferences and meetings
- Proficiency in English (IELTS minimum 6.5 or TOEFL-iBT minimum score of 90)
Job Description
The PhD candidate will engage in:
- Advanced micromechanical modeling using existing methods like Crystal Plasticity
- Analyzing changes in microstructures of various steel types (Advanced High Strength Steels, Electrical Steel, etc.)
- Reporting research findings in bi-weekly meetings and at quarterly meetings with industrial partners
- Interacting with industrial partners and presenting research results at international scientific conferences
- Tutoring MSc students on sub-projects related to current research
