Scholarship Description:

  • Project Collaboration: Between Inria team THOTH and the Multidisciplinary Institute in Artificial Intelligence (MIAI) in Grenoble.
  • Focus Areas: Embedded and hardware architectures for AI, learning and reasoning, perception and interaction, AI for health, environment & energy, and industry 4.0.
  • Project Goals:
    • Identify Human Hand-Object Configurations: Develop algorithms to classify and understand human hand interactions with objects.
    • Anticipate Future Actions: Implement predictive models for human actions to enable proactive robot responses.
    • Develop Latent Action Representations: Utilize generative models for better action classification and anticipation.
    • Address Low Data Availability: Use transfer learning, data augmentation, and synthetic data generation.
    • Manage Unknown Classes: Identify and incorporate new action classes in real-time.

Eligibility:

  • Degree: MSc in computer science or a similar field.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent English writing and communication.
    • Software engineering and programming in Python (C++ is beneficial).
    • Technical background in robotics, machine learning, and computer vision.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Industrial experience is a plus.
    • Interest in interdisciplinary research with MIAI Grenoble Alpes Institute.
