Description

The PhD candidate will focus on:

  • Developing a digital twin model for monitoring AEM cell health and forecasting remaining useful life for predictive maintenance.
  • Utilizing neural network surrogates of detailed physics-based models to access internal cell parameters during operation.
  • Exploring methodologies such as recurrent neural networks, Kalman filters, and inverse parameter estimation.
  • Contributing to experimental stability testing of AEM cells.

Candidates are expected to work collaboratively within a team of researchers, engage with industry partners, and possess strong numerical modelling and machine learning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model development and health monitoring of AEM electrolyser systems.
  • Conduct empirical experiments for model validation.
  • Collaborate with external partners from academia and industry.
