PhD Position in Analytical Chemistry: The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is offering a fully-funded PhD Position in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmacokinetics to dedicated multidisciplinary scientists. PhD Position in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmacokinetics
Designation: PhD Position in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmacokinetics
Research Area: The successful candidate will focus on developing a sensitive, selective, and rapid liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for the analysis of a lead candidate against schistosomiasis. Additionally, they will conduct pharmacokinetic studies with different doses and treatment regimens in mice, humanized mice, and hamsters, and assist with pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology or similar, with an interest in a multidisciplinary work environment
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS and the development of analytical methods
- Interest in parasitology and work in rodents
- Excellent laboratory skills
- Self-motivated and career-oriented with strong communication skills in English (written and verbal); French and/or German language skills are an asset
Job Description:
- Develop a sensitive, selective, and rapid LC-MS/MS method for the analysis of the drug
- Conduct pharmacokinetic studies with different doses and treatment regimens in mice, humanized mice, and hamsters
- Assist with pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling
- Conduct combination chemotherapy studies with the lead candidate and other antischistosomal drugs
