Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s Degree: Required in Bioinformatics or equivalent (Bac +5)
  • Knowledge: Genetics and genomics in eukaryotes
  • Experience: Bioinformatics analysis of high-throughput genomic sequences is preferred
  • Skills:
  • Strong interest in animal genetics and genomics
  • Programming skills (Python, R)
  • Practical knowledge of computing clusters
  • Ability to write articles and communicate effectively
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required

Description

The selected candidate will join the GBoS team within the Animal Genetics and Integrative Biology unit. The research will aim to analyze the genomic data of French cattle breeds to understand their population structure, selection signatures, and causal genetic variants for traits of interest such as milk production. The candidate will work with a comprehensive database of over 151 million genetic variants and will participate in international collaborations, providing a rich research environment.
