Eligibility/Qualification
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Master’s in Quantum Information and Technologies, Fundamental Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, or related fields.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
- Python programming (1-2 years)
- Experience in quantum computing or simulation (1-2 years)
Additional Knowledge and Experience:
- High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Quantum annealing
- Research experience with real quantum computers

Job Description
The PhD candidate will:
- Develop computational tools for quantum annealers and simulators.
- Conduct research at the intersection of quantum simulators and quantum annealers.
- Work on quantum-HPC applications and benchmark various quantum computing techniques.
- Collaborate with European institutions on mutual projects.
Supervision will be under the BSC’s researcher Alba Cervera Lierta, with additional mentorship from experts in theoretical and experimental quantum simulation.
