Eligibility/Qualification:
- M.Sc. degree in Behavioral Biology or a related field (Cognitive or Comparative Biology).
- Experience in observational or experimental studies with animals.
- Advanced statistical and analytical abilities (experience using R is a plus).
- Excellent command of English; French language skills desirable.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
- Team-player with the ability to work under harsh conditions.
- Good intercultural communication skills.
- Clean Driver’s License.
Job Description:
PhD Position in Behavioral Biology at DPZ, Göttingen
- Conduct studies on the information-seeking behavior of wild Guinea baboons near the DPZ field site Simenti in Senegal.
- Combine behavioral observations and field experimentation.
- Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and team-oriented research environment.
- Enroll in a training program with compulsory and elective courses, regular retreats, and summer schools.
- Receive ample funding for conferences and external laboratory visits.
