PhD Position in Bio-Economic Modeling: The Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) is inviting applications for a PhD position under the BMEL-funded project HUMAX. This project focuses on optimizing carbon sequestration, energy yield, and the production of food and renewable raw materials through the study of agroforestry systems, agrivoltaic systems, and viticulture.

Description

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Collecting data on agricultural production systems including Biochar, Agri-PV, and Agroforestry.
  • Applying and further developing the bio-economic farm model MODAM.
  • Conducting integrated economic and ecosystem service analyses.
  • Analyzing the potential of new production systems regionally.
  • Developing policy recommendations through scenario analysis.
