Study Area: The research focuses on the utilization of underexploited biomass feedstocks for sustainable and high-quality fiber extraction, with an emphasis on establishing innovative processes for optimal biomass refining and fibrillation to nanoscale.

Scholarship Description: The selected candidate will be an integral part of the Bio-LUSH Horizon project, contributing to the transformation of underutilized biomass into functional biobased materials such as edible films and packaging. This involves pioneering processes for biomass refining and fibrillation, pushing the boundaries of sustainable materials.

Eligibility: Applicants should be outstanding experimental physicists or physical chemists with an MSc or equivalent degree. Less than 4 years of full-time research experience and no doctoral degree are prerequisites. Proficiency in material science, soft condensed matter physics, colloids, and mechanical properties of soft materials is essential. Candidates with expertise in characterization methods, mechanical characterization, and light scattering techniques are preferred. Modelling skills using Phyton and Matlab are advantageous. Fluency in English (IELTS min. 7 or TOEFL internet-based min. 90) is required.
