Eligibility/Qualification
- Education: MSc degree in Engineering (e.g., Engineering Science or Bioscience Engineering), Material Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geology, or a related field.
- Academic Achievement: A degree with at least cum laude or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in LCA/EF as applied to material flows, especially concerning critical raw materials, is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interest in life cycle assessment, data collection and analysis across varying spatial scales, communication skills, and proficiency in English.
- Nationality: Must hold nationality from a Member State of the EU or have resided in an EU Member State for at least five years.
Description
The PhD research aims to address key questions regarding the impact assessment of critical and biobased raw materials in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). It will involve:
- Developing value chain-specific LCA for critical raw materials and embedded products.
- Conducting economic and criticality assessments for CRM-embedded products.
- Integrating environmental, economic, and criticality assessment frameworks for these products.
The candidate will collaborate with researchers, industries, and policymakers, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in sustainability assessments.
