Description:
This PhD position offers an exciting opportunity to conduct mechanistic studies of proteins involved in biological energy conversion processes. The project focuses on understanding how membrane-bound enzyme systems capture chemical or light energy and catalyze electron transfer coupled proton transport across biological membranes. Utilizing experimental biochemical, biophysical, structural methods, or computational multiscale simulations, the candidate will explore the structure, function, and dynamics of these proteins. Working in an interdisciplinary team alongside PhD students, postdocs, and senior scientists, the candidate will contribute to advancing knowledge in bioenergetics and protein function.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates should apply through Stockholm University’s recruitment system, ensuring the application is complete according to the instructions provided in the advertisement. Please include the following documents:

  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) detailing academic qualifications, work experience, and degree projects/theses
  • Project proposal/research proposal outlining your interest, objectives, and suitability for the project
  • Scientific question/project description (1-2 pages) within the project described above, showcasing your scientific thinking
  • Degree certificates and grades confirming eligibility requirements
