Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Life Sciences or related fields (Bioengineering preferred).
- Background in Vascular Biology or Cancer Biology is prioritized.
- Experience or interest in organ-on-a-chip, 3D (bio)printing, microfabrication, and cell culture (especially 3D cultures involving hydrogels and endothelial/cancer cells).
- Proficiency in standard biological techniques (qPCR, ELISA, immunofluorescence) and imaging (confocal microscopy, high-content screening).
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- High self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Work on a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation focused on understanding the aging blood vessels’ role in melanoma metastasis.
- Employ biofabrication to create 3D microvascular networks and analyze interactions between blood vessels and cancer cells using advanced sequencing and screening techniques.
- Collaborate within a dynamic, interdisciplinary team and access state-of-the-art facilities.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in academic journals.
- Engage in scientific mentoring and teaching as part of the PhD program.
