PhD Position in Cell Biology / Vascular Biology: Join our research team at the Institute of Cell Biology focused on understanding the mechanobiological regulation of endothelial cell dynamics. This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to delve into cell biology and vascular biology through interdisciplinary research.
Designation:
PhD Candidate
Location:
University Hospital of Münster (UKM), Albert-Schweitzer-Campus 1, 48149 Münster, Germany
Research Area:
Mechanobiological Regulation of Endothelial Cell Dynamics
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Background in Cell Biology or related life sciences field
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:
- Cell culture techniques (e.g., plating, transfection, passaging)
- Quantitative image analysis and microscopy
- Microfluidic device handling
- Molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, qPCR, Western blot)
- Immunocytochemistry
- Excellent English communication skills
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research
Description:
This project aims to investigate how endothelial cells (specifically Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells, HUVECs) respond to mechanical forces by altering cytoskeleton, adhesion dynamics, and gene expression. We will utilize microfluidic systems, quantitative live-cell imaging, molecular biology, and immunocytochemistry to explore how these networks integrate environmental inputs for vascular function, remodeling, and barrier integrity.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should apply via our career portal, including the following documents:
- A letter of motivation (including research interests)
- A CV
- A list of publications (if applicable)
- Contact details for two academic referees
Last Date to Apply:
