Scholarship Description: The PhD position centers on investigating the assembly mechanisms of human pathogenic viruses, specifically those from the Pneumoviridae family. The research will employ state-of-the-art cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) techniques along with biochemical and biophysical assays to understand the structural dynamics of virus assembly. The successful candidate will delve into multi-component complexes involved in viral assembly, gaining insights into the molecular processes driving viral replication cycles.
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed a second-cycle level degree, or equivalent, with a background in chemistry or related fields. Specific entry requirements include a minimum of 90 ECTS credits in chemistry or relevant subjects, with at least 15 ECTS credits at the second-cycle level. Additionally, candidates should possess experience in infection biology, biochemistry, and structural biology, along with proficiency in English.
