Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed second-cycle degree or equivalent (240 ECTS credits), including 60 ECTS at an advanced level.
  • At least 90 ECTS in related fields (physics, computer science, mathematics, etc.), with at least 30 ECTS at an advanced level.
  • Background in computational physics and relevant topics such as automation, machine learning, mathematical statistics, optimization, and robotics is preferred.
  • Experience in programming (C/C++ or Python) is meritorious.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Must meet MSCA mobility requirements (not having lived or worked in Sweden for more than 12 months in the last 36 months).

Job Description

The PhD candidate will contribute to the research project focused on developing intelligent automation processes for large-scale simulations of robots and mobile machinery. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research on modeling, model simplification, and data analysis.
  • Participating in projects related to autonomous capabilities in various industries (mining, forestry, construction, space).
  • Collaborating with Umeå University and Algoryx Simulation AB.
  • Engaging in interdisciplinary team work and participating in workshops and international conferences.
