Research Area

The focus of the PhD project is on:

  • Confidence and Uncertainty
  • Explainability and Reliability

The research is conducted in collaboration with industry partner Kongsberg Satellite Services, addressing applications in environmental and maritime surveillance.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning and programming skills.
  • Previous experience in applied machine learning is beneficial.
  • Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is a plus.

Description

The PhD fellow is expected to:

  • Participate in organized research training and complete the thesis during employment.
  • Write publishable research papers and present findings at international conferences.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary teams and achieve collectively defined research goals.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for accessing sensitive information is necessary.
