Research Area
The focus will be on developing hydrogels for enhanced radiotherapy responses and minimizing effects on healthy tissues. The project includes collaboration with various hospitals and usage of patient-derived cancer organoids.

Eligibility/Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- A Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or related fields.
- A high level of motivation and capability for teamwork.
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
- Preferred experience in synthesis and characterization of biomaterials, particularly nanoparticles and hydrogels.
- Experience in cell culture, optical and fluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry is a plus.
Description
The PhD candidate will work on synthesizing and characterizing novel bionanomaterials, including functional nanoparticles and 3D hydrogels. The role involves:
- Utilizing various techniques such as NMR, IR, X-ray tomography, rheology, SEM, TEM, DLS, and confocal microscopy.
- Conducting cell culture studies to develop patient-derived lung cancer organoids in partnership with the Hospital General Universitari de Valencia.
- Analyzing cancer organoids through a range of methodologies and evaluating the incorporation of radiotherapeutic agents into the treatments.
- Participation in national and international conferences and receiving training in leadership and soft skills.
