Description
The PhD position involves conducting laboratory experiments to reveal thermal niches of various diatom species, analyzing genomes and transcriptomes, and integrating experimental with genomic data to discover evolutionary genetic backgrounds of climate adaptation. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in microbiology, adaptation, and genomics, as well as analytical and detail-oriented skills. Proficiency in English and familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, and bash will be advantageous.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing laboratory experiments related to diatom thermal niches.
- Obtaining and analyzing genomic data.
- Conducting comparative genomics and transcriptomics.
- Data management and curation.
- Contributing to science communication efforts.
