Project Description and Work Duties: The doctoral student will primarily engage in research studies, including statistical analysis of genetic data collected from healthy control individuals and patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. The research aims to elucidate the role of genetic variants and molecular signaling pathways in disease risk. Integrative omics analyses will involve combining genetic data with other high-dimensional data types. The position will require collaboration, scientific writing, and presentation of results at conferences.

Qualifications:

  • An advanced level degree (master’s or equivalent) in engineering, molecular biology, neuroscience, mathematics, biology, medicine, biomedicine, psychology, or a related field.
  • Basic programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB, or another programming language.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Analytical and initiative skills.

Eligibility: Applicants with basic eligibility for third-cycle studies should have completed a second-cycle degree or acquired equivalent knowledge.

Type of Employment: This is a full-time, fixed-term position for four years, beginning on 2024-01-01 or according to agreement.
