Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
- Background in fluid mechanics and experience with experimental work are appreciated.
- Proficiency in English (both oral and written) and good communication skills are required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Command of German is appreciated but not compulsory.
- Willingness to work in a research group and to cooperate with other research groups of the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer.
- Highly driven candidate, showing adaptability and motivated to work in an international research team.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work on the research project “FWF – Free Drop-Particle Collisions in Air,” including:
- Experimental generation and investigation of colliding streams of drops and particles
- Physical characterization of liquids, including polymerizing solutions
- Development of a method for generating wet and soft particles and running the experiments of the FWF project with data processing
- Modelling of the collisions and their outcomes, using the experimental data
- Documentation and publication of research results and reporting to the FWF; a doctoral degree can be achieved
