Research Area:
The research focuses on the analysis of stem cell therapy’s effectiveness on the dopamine system and related behavioral symptoms in rodent models of Parkinson’s Disease.
Location:
This position is based in Utrecht, within a collaborative framework between the Meye group at UMC Utrecht and the Donega group at Amsterdam UMC.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Must possess or expect to obtain an MSc diploma in a relevant field (preferably neuroscience) before May 2025.
- Experience with rodents is mandatory.
- Useful experience includes Parkinson’s Disease research, cell culture, stem cell biology, behavioral assays, stereotactic surgery, in vivo neurophysiology (e.g., fiber photometry), and transcriptomics.
Description:
The successful candidate will work independently while being supported by technicians and collaborating with a team of PhD students and postdocs. Research will employ various techniques available at the Department of Translational Neuroscience, focusing on the functional recovery of the dopamine system.
