Eligibility/Qualification

  • Excellent master’s degree in Chemistry, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong interest in research on electrochemical systems.
  • Desirable experience in:
  • Electrochemistry
  • Electrocatalysis
  • Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy
  • Additive manufacturing techniques (spray coating, doctor blade, slot-die coating)
  • High motivation to complete a PhD within 3 years.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Independent working ability and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Description

As a PhD candidate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Synthesis and characterization of catalyst particles for electrochemical processes.
  • Manufacturing catalyst layers using novel synthesized catalysts for application in electrochemical ion exchange membrane reactors, such as fuel cells or electrolysers.
  • Characterization of membrane electrode assemblies before, during, and after operations.
  • Participation in project meetings and coordination with internal and external project partners.
  • Publication and presentation of research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
