Eligibility/Qualification:

  • 1st class or 2:1 UK Masters-level or BSc degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
  • Candidates with a 2:2 may be considered based on excellent research skills demonstrated in the application and references
  • Interest in physical chemistry, electrochemical systems, and energy storage
  • Proficiency in synthetic coordination and organometallic chemistry
  • Willingness to learn and apply analytical, electrochemical, and characterization techniques
  • Enthusiasm for laboratory work, collaborative attitude, and excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Job Description: The PhD project aims to enhance the understanding of decoupled electrochemistry, investigating its application in energy storage, conversion, and electrosynthesis. The candidate will engage in a diverse range of research activities, including organic and inorganic synthesis, materials synthesis, electrochemical characterization, battery cycling, and product analysis. The project offers an opportunity to gain expertise in long-duration energy storage technologies.
