Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent in physics or engineering.
  • Strong passion for quantum information science and groundbreaking research.
  • Exceptional ideation skills and ability to bring ideas to life.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork and open-minded engagement.

Job Description: The successful candidate will join the established optomechanics team at bigQ to develop a novel cavity opto-mechanical system. The project’s goal is to push the boundaries of quantum physics by bringing macroscopic mechanical oscillator modes into the true quantum realm. By manipulating this mechanical system with light, the project aims to generate unprecedented quantum states. This endeavor not only challenges quantum mechanics in new domains but also advances quantum technologies like quantum memory and quantum transduction.

Approval and Enrolment: The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval. The candidate will be enrolled in a general degree program at DTU.

Salary and Appointment Terms: The appointment will adhere to the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The period of employment is 3 years.
