Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or geosciences with a focus on geochemistry.
- Basic knowledge in gas hydrate research.
- Experience in assembling experimental setups and systematic planning of laboratory experiments.
- Proficiency in analytical methods (e.g., Raman spectroscopy, ICP-OES, AAS).
- Knowledge of handling hazardous substances.
- Fluent in English; German language skills at B2 level.
Description
This research aims to develop a method for the efficient capture of CO2 from exhaust gases while simultaneously treating industrial wastewater using gas hydrate technology. Key responsibilities include:
- Independent planning and conducting of experiments to determine hydrate formation conditions.
- Analysis of gas and aqueous phases using advanced spectroscopic techniques.
- Development of optimization recommendations and best practice protocols based on experimental results.
- Publishing research in international journals and presenting at conferences.
- Collaborating with the partner institution (University of Potsdam).
