Description

The PhD candidate will develop AI and data-driven models to transform large-scale exposomic and health data into actionable risk predictions. The project aims to predict various non-communicable diseases by analyzing environmental exposures, socioeconomic contexts, and health data.

Responsibilities:

  • Design spatio-temporal machine learning models, integrating various datasets.
  • Develop physics-guided models for environmental exposure estimation.
  • Build explainable AI pipelines to identify vulnerable populations.
  • Combine deep learning with causal inference.
  • Extend population-level models to longitudinal patient trajectories.
  • Design dynamic risk models that adapt over time.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit the following documents through jobs.vub.be:

  • CV
  • Motivation Letter
  • Diploma (if not a VUB alumnus)
  • Academic Transcripts
  • Optional links to GitHub, publications, or previous projects
