Eligibility/Qualification

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (building physics, architectural engineering, civil engineering, heritage science, etc.).
  • Understanding of hygrothermal dynamics and experience in scientific programming and quantitative analysis.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Interest in heritage materials and experience with environmental monitoring.
  • Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, WUFI, EnergyPlus).
  • Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency in statistics and scientific programming.

Description

In this role, the successful candidate will develop a multiscale hygrothermal framework to simulate heat and moisture transport from repository scale down to object level. Responsibilities include conducting doctoral research, validating models against environmental monitoring data, and participating in international case studies and outreach activities, including journal publications and conferences.
