Research Area
The project focuses on the design and synthesis of new metal-organic frameworks with low-valent metal nodes inspired by organometallic species. These structures will be studied for their catalytic properties, evaluating activity, selectivity, and stability.
Location
Department of Physics, Chemistry, and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark, Odense.
Eligibility/Qualification
- A Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry.
- Experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry.
- Hands-on experience with air- and moisture-sensitive synthetic techniques is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with techniques such as single-crystal crystallography, powder X-ray diffraction, NMR, UV-Vis, IR, luminescence spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy is advantageous.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in English.
Description
The successful candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research aimed at creating more effective catalysts to reduce dependency on fossil fuels. The role includes the synthesis and characterization of new compounds, with a focus on understanding the relationship between structure and catalytic performance. The position is funded for three years, during which the candidate is not permitted to engage in other paid employment.
How to Apply
Application must be made in English and includes the following documents:
- A letter stating your specific interest, motivation, and qualifications for the project (max. two pages).
- Detailed CV with personal contact information.
- Copies of diplomas for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, including transcripts.
- At least two signed reference letters (can be sent directly to solda@sdu.dk).
Applications should be sent electronically via the application link provided on the SDU website. Attach documents in PDF format as three separate files.
Note: Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
