Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed degree at an advanced level (240 higher education credits, including 60 at advanced level) or equivalent knowledge.
- Fluent in both oral and written English.
- Previous experience in protein purification and membrane model systems is advantageous.
- Highly motivated with good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international team.
Job Description: The project focuses on understanding how peripheral membrane proteins bind and transform cellular membranes into stable vesicles. Techniques include protein-lipid interaction measurements using purified recombinant proteins and in vitro reconstituted lipid membranes. Structural analysis will involve cryogenic electron microscopy and single-particle reconstruction. Cellular model systems combined with advanced fluorescence microscopy will be employed for studying membrane remodeling. The PhD student will primarily dedicate themselves to their own education with the goal of becoming a first-class researcher.
