Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Engineering Technology, Bioscience Engineering, Biology, or related field (or expected graduation soon).
  • Strong interest in microbiology, microbial ecology, and applied bioinformatics.
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  • Experience in experimental research is an asset.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and programming (Linux environment) is a plus.

Job Description

  • Conduct innovative research into microbial ecology and applied bioinformatics related to barrel-aged sour beers.
  • Utilize -omics tools to analyze data generated throughout the research.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary international research team and engage in outreach to companies and potential users.
  • Supervise students and assist in teaching activities.
  • Publish interim results in scientific articles and present findings at conferences.
