Description
The PhD candidate will conduct fieldwork and laboratory studies to identify key microbial players involved in methane cycling in Arctic freshwater lakes. Responsibilities include metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, and exometabolomics, as well as characterizing microbial metabolism and enzyme functions. The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, present findings at international meetings, and publish in scientific journals.
As a member of the Department of Microbiology at Radboud University, involvement in teaching (10% of the working time) is required. Candidates will also participate in the RIBES Graduate School for further professional development.
