Study Area:
Molecular and cellular biology with a focus on prion-like proteins in gene expression regulation.
Scholarship Description:
This PhD position is part of a larger project funded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche and aims to explore the role of prion-like proteins, such as Nab3 and Ssd1, in gene expression regulation through their ability to form aggregates and undergo conformational changes. The research will involve high-resolution genomic methods to map RNA-binding sites, analyze the impact of prion-like protein aggregation on gene regulation, and characterize the mechanisms driving these conformational changes using proteomics and immunofluorescence microscopy. The PhD student will work in a collaborative and vibrant scientific environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities at the Montpellier BioCampus.
Eligibility:
- Enthusiastic about science and biology.
- Team-player, rigorous, and well-organised.
- Master’s degree in biological sciences (preferably in genetics/genomics).
- Previous experience in molecular biology.
- Experience in constructing next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of bioinformatics applied to genomics is highly appreciated.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Required Documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Letter of motivation
- Contact details of two referees
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should send their application, including a CV, letter of motivation, and contact details of two referees to Odil Porrua at odil.porrua@igmm.cnrs.fr.
