Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a closely related field (or expected date of certification).
  • Research Experience: Prior experience in molecular biology research.
  • Language Skills: Excellent English communication skills.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience in cyanobacteria cultivation, gene editing, protein purification, and/or enzymatic assays is highly advantageous.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Research Operations: Conduct experimental research on the metabolic regulation of the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6308. Tasks include generating and physiologically characterizing mutant strains, purifying and characterizing enzymes, and analyzing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) data.
  • Scientific Dissemination: Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present outcomes at national and international conferences.
  • Academic Mentorship: Supervise and mentor Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
