PhD Position in Molecular Modelling of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins

Designation:
PhD Candidate in Molecular Modelling

DetailInformation
Research AreaMolecular Modelling of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins (IDPs)
LocationETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
Eligibility/Qualification– Recently obtained Master’s degree in physics, physical chemistry, or chemistry/biology with emphasis on physical chemistry and computational methods.
– Coding abilities in at least one programming language.
– Excellent proficiency in English.
– Good soft skills for independent and team work.
– Interest in molecular modelling and scientific research. Prior experience with molecular simulations is a plus.
DescriptionThe project involves designing and implementing a coarse-grained representation for IDPs, utilizing experimental EPR, cross-linking, and NMR data for molecular dynamics calculations. Supervision by Dr. Maxim Yulikov and collaboration with experts in EPR, simulations, and structural biology are key components. Candidates must be self-motivated and effective communicators, capable of working independently while engaging in team discussions.
How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit their application online, including a CV and a cover letter. Two support letters from previous supervisors will be required during the evaluation process. For inquiries, candidates can visit the office HCI F231 or contact Dr. Maxim Yulikov at myulikov@ethz.ch.
Last Date for ApplyApplications will be accepted until the position is filled, but candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The latest possible start date is August 1, 2025.
