Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioscience Engineering, or similar, with distinction (required).
- Solid understanding of network analysis/graph theory and a strong foundation in general data visualization principles and techniques.
- Experience in topological data analysis (TDA).
- Good programming and data analysis skills (including Python and, if possible, Javascript).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-domain research team.
- Proficient in oral and written English, excellent communication, multitasking skills, team-oriented, proactive, and result-driven.
Job Description:
PhD Position in Visual Analytics applied to Multilayer Networks (ref. BAP-2023-829)
The PhD candidate will contribute to the development of a human-in-the-loop visual analytics toolkit for in-depth exploration of differences between two or more networks. The research will involve custom visual design, implementation of interestingness features, and definition of novel distance metrics for topological data analysis, applied to various types of multi-layer networks.
