Research Area
The focus of the research will be on neuroimaging and clinical data analysis concerning Lewy body disease (LBD), inclusive of dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s disease. The research aims to identify subgroups of patients based on neuroimaging biomarkers and their symptoms.
Location
The PhD position is based at the DZNE’s facility in Rostock, Germany.
Eligibility/Qualification
- A Master’s degree in Computational Neuroscience, (Neuro)psychology, Cognitive Science, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Programming experience in R, Python, and/or MATLAB.
- Strong knowledge of statistics and analytical skills.
- Solid command of the English language.
- Good organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.
Description
The PhD candidate will engage in:
- Analyzing neuroimaging data (MRI, DTI, PET).
- Applying statistics and machine learning to extensive neuroimaging and clinical datasets.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication in reputable international journals.
- Presenting research findings at various conferences.
This position aims to develop and validate neuroimaging biomarkers to assess neurotransmitter system integrity in patients, with applicability extending to other neurodegenerative diseases.
