Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must hold a Master’s level degree (at level Merit minimum) with an undergraduate degree at level UK 2:1, although a 1% class and/or Distinction would be highly desirable.
- Applicants from diverse backgrounds, including Neuroscience, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Cognitive Science, and related fields, are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical and computational skills are essential, with proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI research (e.g., Python).
- Experience with neural network modelling, machine learning algorithms, or computational neuroscience tools is highly desirable.
- Candidates should demonstrate curiosity, drive, and passion for research in the field, along with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
Description: The PhD position offers an opportunity to engage in groundbreaking research on various topics, including information and communication within brain circuits, neural network modelling, and evolutionary and developmental models of brain heterogeneity. The position comes with funding covering tuition fees and a stipend, supported by Danyal’s Imperial College Research Fellowship. Please note that only UK Home fee status students are eligible for this position.
