Eligibility/Qualification

  • Excellent track record in Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from a reputable university.
  • Strong analytical and systems implementation skills.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and distributed systems.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Must have resided outside the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the last 3 years prior to recruitment.

Job Description

As a PhD candidate, you will:

  • Develop autonomous systems capable of self-organization, self-optimization, and self-healing.
  • Tackle challenges at the intersection of edge computing and distributed systems.
  • Engage in hands-on development of network transport protocols and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate in a vibrant research environment with European partners.
  • Contribute to open-source projects like Kubernetes and Oakestra.
