Scholarship Description

The PhD candidate will explore a rational design approach to overcome energy gap laws, pioneering advancements in drug activation techniques. The research involves:

  • Developing organic dyes for photocages
  • Investigating photochemical and redox properties in drug delivery
  • Conducting biological experiments to test drug activation mechanisms

This fully funded PhD offers access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure, international collaborations, and opportunities for skill development in areas like vector illustrations, 3D modeling, and 3D printing.

Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A first-class Master’s degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry (completed before the contract starts)
  • Strong background in organic synthesis, redox chemistry, and physical organic chemistry
  • Experience with inert atmosphere techniques (glovebox, vacuum line, Schlenk techniques) and cyclic voltammetry
  • Additional experience in biology (cell viability studies, flow cytometry, bioimaging, western blotting) or photochemistry is an advantage
  • Academic awards at the university or national level
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
