Research Area:

This PhD project will explore fundamental physics challenges in electrochemistry, where electron transfer reactions at the atomic level are coupled with the dynamics of the liquid electrolyte. The research will involve statistical physics, chemical kinetics, hydrodynamics, and numerical modeling.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in (theoretical) physics, theoretical chemistry, or a closely related field (engineering or materials science).
  • Proficiency in numerical methods and programming.
  • Background in soft-matter physics, physical chemistry, and fluid dynamics is an asset.

Job Description:

  • Develop and refine theories that connect the kinetics of redox reactions with microscopic models of electrolytes.
  • Implement numerical calculations for specific electrochemical systems within an experimental consortium.
  • Collaborate with researchers across multiple disciplines to advance applications in hydrodynamics and electrochemical processes.
