PhD Position in “Generation of Plant Bio-factories for the Sustainable Production of Mosquito Repellents and High-Value Compounds”
The offered one-year contract provides an opportunity for a graduate student to pursue their PhD thesis in the Plant Bio-factories group. The research focuses on developing a plant bio-factory platform for sustainable production of terpenoids, particularly for mosquito repellents and other high-value compounds. The project involves advanced techniques such as transcriptomics, metabolomics, and CRISPR/Cas gene editing.
Eligibility: Prospective candidates must hold a University Degree and Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with a GPA higher than 8.5/10. Proficiency in English is required. Candidates should have knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques, bioinformatics, and statistics. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team are essential.
