  • Experience in plant-microbe interactions.
  • Strong experimental background in molecular genetics and genomics of polyploid organisms.

Job Description: The selected candidate will contribute to the FreeWheat project, focusing on developing methods for incorporating barley’s nonhost resistance factors into wheat through conventional breeding. Responsibilities include infection assays, disease resistance phenotyping, microscopic phenotyping protocol development, mapping and cloning of disease-resistance genes, genetic validation of candidate genes, managing wheat and barley crossing programs, developing markers for disease-resistance genes, and project reporting and publishing.
